Oxgangs Support Workers

Earm up to £20,256.39

Ark is a major provider of Housing, Care and Support to people with long term and enduring conditions such as learning disabilities, mental health issues, dementia and autism. Our aim is to ensure that those who use our services get the very best out of Ark to enable them to live as independently as possible and lead a happy life.

Oxgangs provides support to 9 people in single and HMO (House of multiple occupants) tenancies .

We are currently recruiting for Established Support Workers across the range of services we have in Colinton - Edinburgh

Most of our Supported People require some degree of personal care.

Support staff are required to support people to look after their own home, whether that’s to assist with arranging a repair or supporting someone to arrange redecoration of their home.

A Support Worker at Ark Oxgangs would also be required to administer medication; provide financial support; helping a Supported Person to maintain contact with their family and friends; anticipate care needs, arrange health care professional input – eg GP, physio etc. – and support people to attend appointments with health care professionals.

A Support Worker at Oxgangs would be required to support our individuals with accessing a range of activities as identified by the Supported Person themselves, their family/guardian and key workers.

Your main duties will be but not limited to:

  • Working with colleagues as part of an effective and efficient team to support vulnerable service users.
  • Communicate and work well with individuals to provide individual care and maintain appropriate relationships.
  • Carry out tasks in accordance with organisational policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Being responsible in supporting individuals throughout the activities, giving positive feedback and encouragement.
