NEW Assistant Opportunity in Dundee

Bield have a fantastic opportunity for a part-time Assistant to join our close knit-team within Dalkeith, Midlothian. Rockwell Garens provides a Retirement Housing with Meals Service to tenants, aged 60 and over, who wish to retain their independence and the right person will help make this possible. You will benefit from daytime work and great work life balance as you will assist with the preparation and delivery of our flexible meals servicethe latest meal being served in the early evening.

The successful candidate will undertake a range of cleaning duties to ensure that internal communal areas are clean, hygienic and meet the standards expected by our tenants and visitors to the development. You will also assist by preparing the dining room for mealtimes, heating prepared meals and delivering these dishes to tenants. On occasion, the Assistant will be expected to clean vacant flats and/ or external pathways of the development and provide general and emergency assistance to tenants, as required. In addition you will respond to property emergencies, taking appropriate action when the Manager is off duty and providing cover for the development office as required.

Hours of employment are 18 per week, organised as follows:

Monday, Tuesday and Sunday, 11.30am to 6pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.

An REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene Qualification or equivalent would be desirable. Although relevant experience in a similar post is also desirable, it is not essential as induction and training (e.g. food hygiene) will be provided.
