Chef/ Cook Opportunity in Glasgow

Bield have a great opportunity for a Chef /Cook who is looking to move away from late nights and long hours in the kitchen to an extremely rewarding role, preparing traditional home cooked Scottish fare on a daily basis. This is an ideal position for someone who takes pride in home cooking and the nutrition of older people.

Bield provides a Retirement Housing Plus Service to tenants, aged 60 and over, who wish to retain their independence but also want to benefit from leaving the worries of making their own meals each day to someone else. The right candidates will benefit from daytime work and great work life balance as you will be expected to prepare a main meal for lunch time and a lighter meal in the early evening.

An ideal role for someone who takes pride in home cooking and baking. We are looking for the right person to serve traditional home cooked meals to our tenants. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to showcase creativity with meals whilst consulting with tenants to ensure individual dietary needs are met.

Casual Cooks support cover requirements for planned and emergency leave. This would be a great opportunity for someone who would like to have more flexibility around their working arrangements and/or gain experience in social care.

Who We Are and Role Requirements

Bield is one of the largest providers of housing and support services to older people in Scotland and everyone plays an important role in making sure that our services improve the lives of older people in Scotland.

You will ensure that all food hygiene and health and safety standards set by Bield and external regulators are met. You must have experience of delivering a high standard of meal service with an understanding of nutritional and dietary requirements of older people. An intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent is desirable.
