Are you passionate about helping people in your community? Do you have experience working in the voluntary sector and managing volunteers? Are you organised and a good communicator?

Community Response in East Dunbartonshire (CRED) was set up in April 2020 to help people with no-one nearby to help who were shielding or self-isolating with shopping and prescription collection. It became clear that these services, along with other low level community support, continue to be needed by the most vulnerable in our communities and CRED has expanded its services to cover wider activities including gardening and transport.

CRED is currently recruiting a full time Manager to manage the daily running of the organisation, including the distribution of referrals to volunteers and completing the administrative procedures in order to ensure the highest standard of service. An important part of the role involves recruiting a cohesive and engaged volunteer team who feel part of our caring organisation. CRED also signposts service users to other local community groups such as East Dunbartonshire OPAL, CAB and Ceartas so a comprehensive knowledge of the East Dunbartonshire voluntary sector will be an advantage.

The role is varied and would suit someone who enjoys working closely with service users and volunteers. You will be a self starter with excellent people skills and networking abilities and be able to work independently, proactively and collaboratively. CRED is a new organisation which has been designed to have very low running costs and, as we operate solely for community benefit, we do not generate an income. Therefore, it is important that the post holder has a record of success in securing external funding and attracting donations.

Working closely with the Board, you will have the opportunity to refine and develop the organisation to respond to evolving needs in the community.

This is a 2 year fixed term contract funded the National Lottery Community Improving Lives Fund and the post holder will work from home, there are currently no premises. CRED operates virtually with all records stored online, service users contact us via an internet telephone line and we keep in touch with volunteers using WhatsApp and Zoom meetings.
