Looking for a career with that feel good factor where you can make a huge difference? Then look no further! You don't need experience to start your career with us, we recruit on values and transferrable skills. We'll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills that you'll need. We'll even fund your SVQ Level 3 qualification too!

Our fabulous #TeamBarfillan are recruiting in Govan for a patient, empathetic *male colleague with great banter to join them as a Support Practitioner to support a young man who has just moved into his new flat.

The Role

This is an exciting, varied role, where no two days are the same!

As a Support Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in supporting the young man with all aspects of daily living, including cooking, support to activities and appointments, managing personal finances and assisting with medication. You'll take an active interest in his hobbies and interests which include exploring new locations, going for walks, listening to music, watching movies and going to the cinema. With your guidance and care, you'll help him explore new activities and become an active member of his local community.

The young man we support has his own mobility car so it is essential that you hold a full, clean driving licence.

To be a great Support Practitioner, you will be:

  • a great listener with a warm, friendly personality
  • able to demonstrate exceptional communication skills
  • able to build and maintain positive, respectful relationships
  • competent in the use of technology to enhance the support you provide
  • creative and proactive with a positive, can-do attitude
  • reliable and flexible to meet the needs of the people we support

Shift Patterns

Our dedicated team provides care 7 days a week between 10am and 6pm. There maybe times where shifts end a little later depending on activities. Weekends and public holidays will be included in your rota.

Do you have any questions? To find out more, please contact Jayne Moore on 07825050119.

If you’re successful in joining our team, you will be expected to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and must be willing to work towards a SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare as required for SSSC registration. We will need you to register with the SSSC within 6 months of starting your employment with us.

Cornerstone welcomes applications from all sections of the community and actively seeks to increase the diversity of our workforce.
