Time to start a job you love and banish those Monday blues forever! If you're ready for a new career look no further as we're recruiting in Glasgow now!!

#TeamDalmarnock are looking for a motivated and understanding individual with exceptional communication skills to join our team in Bridgeton as a Support Practitioner on a permanent full-time basis.

The Role

You will be joining a dedicated team of Support Practitioners providing support to six ladies within a twenty-four-hour housing support service in Bridgeton. The people we support have learning disabilities and other complex health and support needs; some of the ladies we support are registered blind and some use a wheelchair.

With a focus on maintaining and promoting independence, as a Support Practitioner, you will work in a person-centred way to provide support in all aspects of daily living, including personal care, cooking and helping them to take care of their home. You’ll provide emotional support and companionship, and you’ll help the people we support to pursue their hobbies and interests, such as going to the gym, horse riding, arts and crafts and knitting.

About You

We are looking for people with a real passion to build relationships and positively impact the lives of the people we support. So, whilst it would be beneficial if you have experience in a similar role, this is not essential. What’s most important to us is that you can demonstrate the right values and attitude to make a difference. You’ll receive all the training and support you need through our award-winning Training Academy, including the opportunity to complete a fully funded SVQ qualification.

To be a great Support Practitioner, you will be:

  • a naturally empathetic person with a warm, friendly personality
  • able to demonstrate exceptional communication skills
  • able to build and maintain positive, respectful relationships with lots of different types of people
  • a problem-solver and able to think on your feet and use your initiative
  • competent in the use of technology to enhance the support you provide
  • a good motivator with a positive, can-do attitude
  • reliable and flexible to meet the needs of the people we support

Shift Patterns

Our team provides support twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, following a four-week rolling rota. If you’re successful in joining our team, you will be expected to work a combination of longer and shorter day shifts and sleepovers.

Our sleepovers don't form part of your contracted hours, so you will be paid an additional £80 for every sleepover you work!

Shortlisted candidates will be invited along to a virtual interview on 19th July 2022.

Do you have any questions? To find out more, please contact Jayne Moore on 07825050119.

If you’re successful in joining our team, you will be expected to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and must be willing to work towards a SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare as required for SSSC registration. We will need you to register with the SSSC within 6 months of starting your employment with us.
