Banish those Monday blues with a job packed full of satisfaction and that feel good factor, knowing you make a real difference.

We're looking for an understanding, patient and bubbly female* colleague who has great attention to join our small, friendly team in Knightswood as a Support Worker.

The Role

You will be joining a small, dedicated team of Support Workers providing support for one lady who lives in her own home. She enjoys going out for cups of tea and to the social club along with going for walks, sensory activities and having a relaxing pamper and massage. Although the lady is non-verbal she can communicate through gestures and sounds and when out and about in the community she uses a wheelchair.

As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in assisting the people we support with all aspects of daily living, including helping to prepare meals, providing personal care, shopping, domestic tasks and helping the lady we support to get out into the community. Our teams adopt a person-centered approach to provide the highest quality support to enable the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, with a focus on maintaining and improving independence.

About You

We are looking for people with a real passion to build relationships and positively impact the lives of the people we support. So, whilst it would be beneficial if you have experience in a similar role, this is not essential. What’s most important to us is that you can demonstrate the right values and attitude to make a difference. You’ll receive all the training and support you need through our award-winning Training Academy, including the opportunity to complete a fully funded SVQ qualification.

To be a great Support Worker, you will be:

  • a great listener with a warm, friendly personality
  • non-judgemental and have a naturally caring nature
  • able to demonstrate exceptional communication skills
  • able to build and maintain positive, respectful relationships with lots of different types of people
  • competent in the use of technology to enhance the support you provide
  • creative and proactive with a positive, can-do attitude
  • reliable and flexible to meet the needs of the people we support

Shift Patterns

Our team provide support 7 days a week 24 hour with shift patterns falling between 10am - 10am. You will be expected to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, sleepovers and public holidays as part of your rota.

Sleepovers are not included in your contracted hours and you’ll receive an additional sleepover payment of between £76.00 to £95.00 per night, depending on the needs of the service.

If you’re shortlisted for this post, you will be invited for virtual interview on Thursday 3rd February 2022.

Do you have any questions? To find out more, please contact Abby McLean on 07900741948

* For this position, female is an Occupational Requirement as defined by the Equality Act 2010.

If you’re successful in joining our team, you will be expected to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and must be willing to work towards a SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare as required for SSSC registration. We will need you to register with the SSSC within 6 months of starting your employment with us.
