The Dean and Cauvin Young People's Trust is one of Edinburgh's oldest charities, established in 1733 to provide care for children. Our aim today is to provide a continuum of care for young people aged 13 to 26 years, and in some cases their children, as they make the transition from being accommodated in care services to living independently in the community. Currently, there are four services: two small residential units, one offering accommodation for young people aged 15 to 17 years, the other catering for young mothers and their babies; a teenage fostering service (Room4U) and an after care team, supporting ex-residents up until the age of 26.

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated individual with a relevant social work and/ or management qualification (or equivalent). You will come with considerable experience of managing staff and finances and of making funding applications. The individual appointed will be strongly committed to improving the life chances of looked after children and young people. Candidates for the position will have a good knowledge of young people's services, outstanding leadership and strategy skills and the ability to motivate staff teams.
