Scheme Assistants (Extra Care Housing) part time (day time) hours in Kelso, Scottish Borders

£19,305 - £19,430 (pro rata)

Caring for older people in the Borders is extremely important to Eildon.

Are you committed to delivering excellent service provision for older people, and can you support our tenants to stay connected to their local community and help them to find creative solutions to the challenges they may face?

Our Scheme Assistants will play an important role in the team at Poynder Apartments in Kelso, Eildon’s new and exciting Extra Care Housing (ECH) service for older people which is due to be completed in Spring and operational from Summer 2023. The shift patterns vary over 7 days, your working day will be similar to 11am until 6pm and can be discussed during the interview process.

You will assist in the provision of the ECH Service, by ensuring all communal areas are clean, hygienic and tidy and assist in the provision of the meals service while working with the team to provide a warm, friendly and safe environment for tenants.

You will ensure that tenants are provided with the means to maintain independent tenancies in a friendly and safe environment. You will become involved in encouraging tenants and the local community to utilise the vibrant social hub to host social activities. You must have an interest in supporting older people and the ability to encourage them to enjoy life.

You will need to have an interest in people, a positive can-do attitude, a willingness to learn and the ability to multitask. Most importantly you should be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of Eildon’s vision and values.
