Support Workers (Extra Care Housing) - Scottish Borders: Kelso

£20,475 – 21,414 pa (pro rata), Depending on qualifications

Caring for older people in the Borders is extremely important to Eildon.

Are you committed to delivering excellent service provision for older people, and can you support our tenants to stay connected to their local community and help them to find creative solutions to the challenges they may face?

Our Support Workers will play an important role in the team at Poynder Apartments in Kelso, Eildon’s new and exciting Extra Care Housing (ECH) service for older people which is due to be completed in Spring and operational from Summer 2023.

You will assist in the provision of the Extra Care Housing Service, by ensuring tenants maintain independent tenancies in a warm, friendly, and safe environment, either directly supporting them in their homes by providing advice, assistance, direct personal and emotional care, or to access and use our social hub for meals and activities at the heart of the development. You should have experience of supporting older people living within their own home, ideally in a supported housing environment.

You should ideally have (or be willing to work to) SVQ3 in Health and Social Care. You will need good ICT skills and be able to use MS Office 365 as well as care, staff, and housing management software, with a positive approach to learn and use new tools as they become available. Most importantly you should be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of Eildon’s vision and values. We are looking to fill several varying shift patterns including waking nights, over 7 days, with individual requirements being discussed at interview stage.
