Are you interested in working for an award-winning social care charity?

Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within ENABLE Scotland by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone with a learning disability to achieve their goals and outcomes – whatever they may be!

Each person we support has different support needs, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections.

The Best in You Brings Out the Best in Me

The people we support have many varied interests and hobbies and have many of the same dreams and aspirations as we do; they just too often do not get the opportunity to experience these same opportunities. A career with ENABLE Scotland is as rewarding as it is diverse, Personal Assistants at their best have the potential to truly bring out the best in the people we support.

Let us introduce you to David, John and Mark:

David loves being outdoors, going for long walks (especially on those rare sunny days in Scotland) and just being as generally active as possible. A typical day could be going to the shops to ensure David has all the essentials he needs, or even just to have a wander around his local community. In his downtime, David enjoys watching movies, going for long drives, listen to Engelbert Humperdinck and just having a general blether with friends.

John loves going for a drive to the countryside, taking in the peaceful scenery. John loves his swimming and enjoys good food. John enjoys life at a slower pace, he does love a good relaxing movie night. John is non-verbal but does communicate his needs very clearly. John also enjoys massage therapy and pamper sessions. John does not like shopping or crowded places.

Mark is the younger man of this trio and loves to live life in the fast lane, Mark enjoys Grand Prix, loud/rock music like Gerry Cinnamon, swimming, going for drives, eating out, going to the Zoo. On Marks down time, he enjoys David Attenborough documentaries (wildlife).

David, John and Mark all share a supported living accommodation with 24/7 support, they enjoy some activities together but mostly like to go out and about doing their own thing.

That is why David, John and Mark needs you! Will you bring your best so that David, John and Mark live their best life?
