Job description

InverCare are a Home Care provider that provides Care and Support Services within the community across a number of regions across Scotland Monday to Sunday, 7 days a week.

We can provide care at home services for people with physical disabilities, general frailty, dementia, learning difficulties, palliative care and end of life care. We currently provide services in the west of Scotland, Renfrewshire, Glasgow, North Lanarkshire, East Renfrewshire and Inverclyde.

About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Assistant Service Manager and Directors with the efficient operational management of the home care service. Managing the business, admin team, senior home support workers, liaising with stakeholders and customers and building relationships.

  • Can cope under pressure
  • Must have a PVG
  • Registered with SSSC
  • Supervisory/management experience
  • Minimum standard of SVQ level 4 or ‘working towards’ this or equivalent in order to satisfy regulatory requirements
  • Must have a full driving licence
  • 18+ Years Old
  • Good level of English
  • Available to work mornings, evenings and weekends

Duties will include:

  • Oversee the service within an allocated geographical area as per manager.
  • Oversee and manage the day to day running of the service.
  • Deputise for Team Manger/ Service Manager when they are not available.
  • Line manage Senior Home Care Workers / Community admin support.
  • Partake in on-call when required, (payment is included in salary and no TIL will be offered as a compensation)
  • Ensure the service sustains financial viability by ensuring the service has adequate work.
  • Ensure your targets are met as per line managers direction.
  • Participate in the service budget and ensure the service is running within its budget.
  • Liaise with payroll and admin as and when required.
  • Participate in disciplinary investigations/hearings.
  • Undertake support and supervisions and annual appraisals for junior staff.
  • Undertake Home Care Reviews and Home Care Assessments
  • Participate in scheduling and the management of staff Rotas.
  • Be proficient in the use of IT platforms.
  • Be proficient in the use of Microsoft.
  • Authorise annual leave and manage annual leave within the service budget and resources.
  • Participate in policies and procedures and ensure policies and procedures are implemented.
  • Ensure all staff are trained and regularly update their training to meet SSSC requirements.
  • Ensure all staff are registered with SSSC.
  • Participate in ongoing training and ensure knowledge and skills are up to date.
  • Participate in safer recruitment when required.
  • Manage complaints and expectations of staff and those we support.
  • Manage absence management
  • Ensure excellent communication is encouraged throughout the service.
  • Actively promote the service
