Kingdom Support and Care CIC (KSC) is a Community Interest Company, a private company limited by shares and a wholly owned subsidiary of Kingdom Housing Association (KHA).

Kingdom Support and Care (KSC) supports over 300 people throughout Fife and Falkirk, providing high quality and personalised support and care designed to meet individual needs and desired outcomes. We provide support to people with a range of needs in their own homes, including those with: learning disability, autistic spectrum disorder, complex needs, mental health issues, age related needs, homelessness, drug and alcohol addictions.

Our aim is to support people to have a safe and secure home, to live as independently as possible in their own home, to live as full a life as possible and to be part of their local community. We provide flexible, responsive and person centered support which assists people to live their lives as they wish and to enable them to meet their desired outcomes.

About the Role

In this role, you will be an integral member of the support team ensuring a high quality of care and support is delivered to individuals within the James Bank Service.

Within the James Bank Service specifically we provide high quality support and guidance to individuals who require access/temporary accommodation as well as support to others within their own homes. The staff base for this service is in the center of Dunfermline however support is provided Fife wide.

As a Senior Support Worker you will undertake joint working support with external parties and agencies to ensure the best possible support is provided to the service users. Furthermore you will work closely with the Coordinators and Support Workers to ensure the service users needs are being provided for.

Being the line manager for a team of support workers, you will carry out regular review meetings whilst ensuring professional and personal development is maintained.

The role is centred around, understanding the day to day challenges faced by people with homelessness issues, and can usually involve mental health aspects, learning and physical disabilities, right through to addictions or substance misuse issues. Working within this service the successful individual requires to have the passion, drive and dedication in helping others to live fulfilling lives.

The role also provides support to individuals on a more outreach approach. This support is to people in their own homes and outreach support services, to develop and maintain independent living skills and to take part in activities in the community. As a Senior Support Worker you will develop and implement support plans for service users.

About You

We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated individual who has the desire to want to support people to have the best life possible. Those with high empathy and tolerance along with a great sense of humour are key to success in what at times can be a challenging but rewarding role. Ideally you should have two years experience in a Support and Care setting and knowledge/experience of supporting people with homelessness.

If you hold an SVQ 2 qualification in Care or a related field in line with the SSSC registration criteria this could be the opportunity for you.

Although we offer flexible working contracts, we also require a degree of flexibility in your approach to work and it is essential you are able to work shifts which will include weekend working, evenings, waking nights, and sleepovers in the outreach service if required.
