As determined by the manager in any geographical area deemed appropriate to carry out the duties required.
Motherwell & District Women's Aid [MDWA] recognizes the importance of supporting a mother, young person or child deal in order to deal with the effects of abuse.
As part of a team, and in line with the commitment of MDWA, the role of the Women's Support Worker is to offer practical and emotional support to women, young people and children who have experienced domestic abuse. This support is offered during their time in refuge, through the transition from refuge to their new home and ongoing support in the community. Support is also offered to women who live in the wider community who access the service independently.
