Do you want to make a difference by helping us to improve lives?

Can you be a great team member and be supportive, creative and excellent at what you do?

Then why not join our fantastic organisation and be part of a first-class team delivering quality care and support.

Here at The Mungo Foundation, we are proud to be one of the most diverse providers of social care and support for vulnerable people in Glasgow, West Central Scotland and beyond. At any one time across our fantastic projects, we are supporting up to 1,500 individuals, their families and communities helping them to live better lives.

Our Buttercups House Project based in the Bishopbriggs area of East Dunbartonshire, provides respite/short break support for up to three children and young people with varying degrees of disability aged between six and 18 years old.

We are looking to recruit a committed and self-motivated Childcare Practitioner to join our busy team. The successful candidate will have the ability to implement Care Plans and Risk Assessments, be responsible for personal care and medication where necessary, and ensure the general wellbeing and safety of the children and young people are met in line with service and organisational policies, procedures and protocols.

Previous relevant experience with the client group and knowledge of current legislation relevant to children’s services such as GIRFEC and SHANNARI is essential.

Successful candidates will be flexible in their approach to providing outcome-based support for all service users, ensuring that they are in control of their own support.

A flexible shift pattern including evenings and weekends is part of this role and is essential to the provision of flexible, needs led support. Wakened night shift and sleepovers may also be required.

If successful but unqualified, you will have to work towards a suitable qualification for a post at this level, in line with the SSSC Regulatory requirements but don’t worry we will support you with this.

We value our staff very highly. Alongside competitive terms and conditions we also offer membership of a great employee benefits’ scheme with fantastic shopping discounts, a credit union and workplace pension plus numerous training and development opportunities, including SVQ registration level qualifications.

Please complete and submit My profile form which can be found on our website:

Appointments are made subject to satisfactory membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme, SSSC registration and appropriate safer recruitment checks which we will guide you through.
