Recovery Workers work in small collaborative teams to provide people with recovery focused support to enhance their mental wellbeing. In line with Penumbra’s values, Recovery Workers assist people who use the service to work towards their individual outcomes and identified goals, as detailed in their personal plan.

SLS West Fife is a Short Term Housing Support Service, providing individuals with short term needs to sustain their home with support and guidance to maintain their tenancies or property to achieve independence. As an allocated Recovery Worker, you will be providing support and assistance to the supported person to understand the importance of maintaining their property, maximising their income, benefits, how to budget, assisting with correspondence, support the person to get into a routine with daily living tasks, support for the person to cope when attending appointments, to liaise with NHS services, and general support the health and wellbeing of the person. The duration of Short Term Housing Support to an individual is up to 1 year.

An individual’s support package is on average 3 hours per week, provided by the Recovery Worker usually of two visits a week with the supported person. The service achieves this through a hybrid of blended support techniques, telephone support, 1:1 video support, group video support, meeting in the community and visiting the person in their home. This post is Part Time of 16.5 hours to be worked ideally over 3 days you will have a Recovery Worker’s diary with an average of 7 supported people.

Working Hours: Part Time (16.5 hours per week), flexible within the times the service operates i.e. Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm.

Location: West Fife.

Leave: 33 days per annum including public holidays.

Special Conditions: Local travel, lone working. Driving license with access to a car within working hours is essential.

Covid 19: During the pandemic this post will involve a mixture of homeworking and face to face support in individual tenancies and in the community.
