Senior Support Workers

Salary: £10.50 per hour

LiN Group and Redcroft Care Services are a private and developing organisation based in Edinburgh supporting Adults with Learning Disabilities, Mental Health on a Residential, Housing Support Services and Home Care basis in Edinburgh.

They are currently recruiting for Senior Support Workers in Colinton, Edinburgh. As a Senior Support worker, you will be responsible for supporting people with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Challenging Behaviour to live full lives, develop skills and maintain their wellbeing. The role is based within their Residential Service and Housing and Care at Home Service. Some of the service users may require 2-1 staff support due to their high support needs including challenging behaviour.

The shifts vary over a 24/7 period, but the earliest shift starts at 7am; the latest finishing time is 10pm. Full-time and Part-time vacancies available.

Hourly rate is £10.50. An enhancement will be paid to those working within the Challenging Behaviour units.

Senior Support Workers: At least 6 months experience in a similar setting and minimum qualification of SVQ 2. SVQ 3 preferred in Health and Social Care or equivalent.

The work includes supervision of support workers, leading shifts, liaising with other professionals and other agencies, supporting service users with daily living activities, carry out appropriate activities of their choice and promote independence.

Other duties include assisting with household tasks; personal care; preparing meals, outings with service users, supporting the Service users in achieving their goals in life, domestic, laundry, short breaks, holidays and working in partnership with service user families and other professionals.

Successful applicants will be subject to registration with the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme through Disclosure Scotland and 2 successful references.
