£21,115 - £22,670

£11.14 per hour when confirmed in post

(£10.97 per hour - engagement period, £11.78 per hour - advance development rate)

At Scottish Autism we acknowledge the specialist support our staff provide to autistic individuals, therefore those doing support work are known as Autism Practitioners. We provide outstanding training and are continuously improving to ensure all our Autism Practitioners are supported and have the skills to deliver a quality service. This post is a good opportunity for those with a generic support worker experience to specialise.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and committed Nightshift Autism Practitioners to be part of the team within Central Area services.

Our Services:

Day opportunities - Supporting individuals with Autism to gain new skills and interests in a safe and thriving environment.

Housing Support -To support individuals with Autism to maintain their own tenancy and to provide care at home as required.

Adult Residential - To provide a home to individuals with Autism within a group setting while promoting life skills.

As an Nightshift Autism Practitioner, experience of working within social care is desirable but not essential as we are seeking to appoint people who share our values and have an interest in building relationships. We will support you to learn and develop within the role and offer an extensive autism specific training programme.

On a day to day basis, Autism Practitioners enable autistic people to complete all activities of daily living, which includes personal care and household chores. You can also expect to be out and about supporting autistic people to access their communities and to take part in activities of their choosing. For this to be possible, Autism Practitioners will be required to carry out shift work including sleepovers and weekends.
