Scottish Veterans’ Residences (SVR), Scotland’s oldest military charity, has an array of resources at its disposal to support former Armed Forces and Merchant Navy personnel, who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or who otherwise need housing support. We seek to maximise their independence and provide support to move on to appropriate, permanent accommodation wherever possible. Veterans have their own fully furnished en-suite room and access to all the facilities and support on site. Our facilities include a modern dining room providing all our residents with meals, as well as a gym, community library & and laundry services.

We are seeking a Housing Assistant to join the Support Team in our Whitefoord House Residence. Located at the foot of the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, Whitefoord House offers a dynamic housing support service to assist our Veterans to return to independent living where appropriate. This is a pivotal role in delivering our service and as such, represent a fantastic career opportunity for the successful candidate.

ABOUT YOU

Motivated, dedicated and enthusiastic, you will be responsible for the delivery of intensive housing management to Ensure that the building is secure and that any health and safety issues are addressed.

To fulfil our Vision and Mission, you will embed our Values to deliver the safety, health, comfort, and welfare of Veterans in line with the Care Inspectorate’s Health and Social Care Standards.

With previous housing management experience delivering positive, sustainable outcomes you will be dedicated to the support and the wellbeing of residents. You will hold or be working towards an SVQ2 in Housing, Health and Social care, or equivalent. You will also have an understanding of the supported housing sector and be able to demonstrate a track record of contributing to high quality services. You are reliable, consistent, focused, and flexible in both your outlook and approach.

In return, we offer an excellent remuneration package within the range £20,163 - £23,977 per annum dependent on experience, plus additional benefits, and pension, with 30 days annual holiday.
