Job Details

Are you an open, honest, positive person with good communication skills and a good team player who is flexible, reliable and up for a laugh?

This vacancy is for a 8 hour post female* Personal Assistant to support a lady in her 50s (smoker) who lives in her own home in the Prestonfield area of Edinburgh.

Cover is provided 7 days a week, with a pattern of generally two shifts per week that are 10 am to 6 pm. However sometimes, when members of the team are on annual leave, availability to cover extra shifts would be a requirement.

*Exemption under Equality Act 2010

About this opportunity

This lady enjoys socialising and is a fun person to be around who loves telling jokes, doing puzzles-especially playing scrabble. Dancing, singing, and eating out are other favourite past times. This lady is a valued member of the Thistle foundation team, who works as a volunteer receptionist, illustrating she is a real people person.

You would be joining a small-personalised team and expected to take part in the additional responsibilities that come with this, such as rota planning, attending meetings and planning sessions, supporting the person to achieve her outcomes, and carrying out a share of admin tasks for the team as required. As a Thistle P.A., you will receive excellent training on full pay and you will be eligible to apply for our fully funded SVQ and other benefits, such as a contributory pension scheme, childcare voucher scheme and Hospital Saturday Fund.
