Job Purpose
Our Personal Assistants support people to lead full, active and socially connected lives, supporting people to achieve the things that matter to them.
Applicants should have, or be willing to work towards, a qualification meeting the standards required for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
Job Details
We are looking for a female* Personal Assistant to join the team that supports a woman who lives in her own home in the west of Edinburgh.
Please note that a driving licence is essential for this position.

- This sociable lady uses a walker both at home and when she is out and about
- She attends several regular groups including Boccia, Hobby craft, and goes to a tea-dance
- She is a very keen music fan and has a wealth of knowledge on the subject and a huge repertoire of lyrics that she enjoys singing.
- She requires minimal prompting to accomplish her housework, cooking and personal care
- She is very close to her parents
- She loves to dine in nice restaurants and have a good blether.
- At home she likes spending time on her iPad and has recently discovered Alexa.
Previous experience is not necessary. Your personal values and your life experiences that you can bring to the role are more important. Thistle provides outstanding training and support that is ongoing throughout your career with us.
Support is provided 24/7 and this vacancy would be for a variety of shifts over the week and weekend.
Shifts are planned on a rota basis in advance by the team. Sleepovers are available if required but not mandatory.
