Job Purpose

Our Personal Assistants support people to lead full, active and socially connected lives, supporting people to achieve the things that matter to them.

Applicants should have, or be willing to work towards, a qualification meeting the standards required for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

Job Details

A post has become available for a female* only part time member of staff (driver not required) to support a middle-aged lady to have her best life. This position is for 30 hours per week. The lady lives in Leith, Edinburgh.

The shift pattern is 10 am until 10 am the next day and this position would be for 1 shift a week on a rota basis including a sleepover between the hours of 10 pm to 7 am.

She loves music (a big Elvis fan), to dance, and spend time with her family who are extremely important to her.

She enjoys speaking to everyone she meets and is looking for a new female personal assistant who is creative and has good ideas of new activities to undertake to help imbed structure and routine in her life.

This role involves:

  • providing personal care and help with all aspects of daily living
  • support at home with housework and cooking
  • supporting the person to get out and about, socialise and go to various social events.

This cheerful lady loves nothing more than being outside, and it important to her that she does get out of her home every day where possible.

This lady requires a consistent approach from her team with support and structure to allow her to develop and benefit from a wide range of positive life experiences.

If you have the following attributes this could be the position for you :-

  • excellent communication skills
  • creative, kind, calm understanding and patient even when under pressure
  • able to develop positive relationships with the person supported and the team to enable consistency

The candidate would however be required to work flexibly to cover a range of shifts at times to allow team members to take annual leave and cover shifts where necessary.
