Job Purpose

Our Personal Assistants support people to lead full, active and socially connected lives, supporting people to achieve the things that matter to them.

Applicants should have, or be willing to work towards, a qualification meeting the standards required for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

Job Details

We are looking for a couple of new Personal Assistants to join our team supporting a gentleman who lives in the Gorgie, Edinburgh area.

Shift patterns are most likely to follow Monday – Friday 12:30-17:30.

About this opportunity

He is a 60 year old man with learning difficulties, living in his own flat in Edinburgh. Born in England, he has lived here for over 30 years. He has sisters and brothers in Edinburgh who are an important part of his life.

His passions include:

• Music
• Motorbike Racing
• Football
• Family
• Fun

He has been diagnosed as being on the Autistic spectrum, however this does not define him. Although he may feel anxious sometimes or struggle to express himself he is capable and intelligent.

He has painful legs, which gets him down and means that he sometimes uses a wheelchair.

He would benefit from respectful support with:

• Housekeeping (Correspondence, Bills, and Appointments)
• Cleaning
• Food choices and Preparation
• Entertainment – companionship/socialisation
