Job Details

Please note that a driving license is required for this position.

The young man lives in Craigmillar, Edinburgh. This position is for 15 hours per week.

Shift patterns will be agreed with the new team, but will probably be 13-hour shifts followed by sleepover and 2 hours the next morning. There will be a need for flexibility from the team to cover each other at times of leave, sickness etc.

About this opportunity

We are looking for a new Wellbeing Practitioner to join a team that will support a young man who moved into his own home a few months ago and to live independently.

This is an exciting opportunity to become a Wellbeing Practitioner. This team will be part of a training program that will support them to become self-organised.

This man loves music and is very sensory. He communicates with help of PECS and his I-pad talker.

He has attended day services but due to these being shut during the current period there is a wonderful opportunity for the new team to find new things that he will enjoy doing.

Successful candidates will need to have patience and develop their understanding of him and find the best approaches to working alongside and supporting him during this transition and beyond.

His team need to be confident, adaptable and flexible to help with this transition and to really support this young man to enjoy his life, the way he wants to.
