Care Assistant

The main role of a care assistant/support worker in Abercorn Care Limited is to ensure our residents receive the highest quality, person-centered care; whether that be assisting with personal care, helping at meal times, getting involved in resident activities etc.

They practice the Company’s expressed intent of delivering high quality professional care within the small care home environment in which residents can fully participate in the delivery of their care and enjoy the benefits that are derived from living within an atmosphere more akin to the family unit.

It is essential that candidates meet the following criteria:

• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
• PVG clearance and two satisfactory written references with one coming from the immediate previous employer.
• Genuine interest in working with the elderly

As a Care Assistant you will play a key role in high quality program of support which promotes resident choice whilst delivering personal care and promoting independence.

• Remain alert and alternative to the needs of residents throughout the shift to ensure that their needs are met at all times
• Engage with residents to participate in recreational and development activities including those outside the home
• Remain respectful and caring at all times.
• Support residents at the end of their life
• Observe, monitor and record condition of residents
