Term Time Only

· Monday – Friday 8am -1pm (flexible, approx. 30 hours per week over 5 days)

· To begin Term 1 August 2023, with handover before summer holiday

· Salary Dependent on Experience

Culter Community Playgroup, a well-established and attended local playgroup, has a rare vacancy for a term time manager. The right candidate will be able to demonstrate strong self-motivation to lead the playgroup in a positive, child-focused manner. You will be required to have a hands-on approach towards the day-to-day operations of the playgroup while effectively communicating with both staff and parents. We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for childcare who has a real desire to further the positive contribution our setting makes to the children and families within our community. In return, we provide a well-provisioned setting, with a lovely outdoor area and a fantastic reputation locally.

Requirements:

· The post holder needs to hold as a minimum: Degree level qualification which is appropriate for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a Manager of a Daycare Service for Children (or be willing and committed to working towards an SCQF level 9 qualification, as per registration requirements)

· It would be preferable if the post holder currently held an HNC Early Education and Childcare /S/NVQ Level 3 Children’s Care and Development, NNEB or equivalent.

· Currently SSSC registered or able to register within 6 months of employment.

· PVG Membership for Regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults or

willingness to obtain prior to a formal offer of employment being made

· The ability to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation

· Extensive experience in an Early Years setting

· A strong passion for childcare and child development

Culter Community Playgroup is a registered OCSR Charity (SC000761) and works in partnership with Aberdeen City Council to deliver funded ELC places.
