Nursery Manager

Flying Start are opening a new purpose-built nursery at Darnley, early in 2020. We are recruiting a full team of staff who will ensure that our new facility is an enriching, stimulating experience for the children and families alike. Darnley will be our third nursery and we aim to continue to provide the same high standards and cosy, homely feel as in nursery one and two.

As our Manager, we would like you:

To ensure that the day to day management of the Nursery complies with our Policies and Procedures, regulatory requirements and national and local guidance.

To have an excellent working knowledge and ability to implement the Curriculum for Excellence, Pre-Birth to Three, Building the Ambition and How Good Is Our Early Learning and Childcare

To ensure that suitable activities are planned and implemented in accordance with current practice

To ensure that children’s individual learning needs are being met and that each child’s progress is recorded

To line manage staff and support their learning and development

To liaise with the Local Authority, Care Inspectorate and other agencies as required

To meet partnership contractual arrangements with Glasgow City Council

To ensure appropriate Quality Assurance systems are in place

Applicants’ qualifications should be consistent with those required to register as a Manager/ Lead Practitioner with SSSC (e.g. BA Childhood Practice or PDA level 9). Managerial experience, either as an existing Manager or Deputy Manager is essential. Consideration will be given to applicants who have experience working within an Early Learning and Childcare setting in a management role and show commitment to gaining a relevant qualification.

Salary will be discussed with the successful applicant. Minimum £24,000
