Lead Early Years Practitioner

Purpose of Post:

We are looking for a passionate and caring Room Leader to take on the day to day management one of our busy playrooms. Working under the Nursery Manager you will be hands-on with the children providing professional leadership and management to the playroom staff and ensuring that all our children receive the highest standards of care.

It is essential you have experience in managing a team whilst working with pre-five children in an early years setting. An Excellent knowledge of Early Years frameworks, legislation and guidance as well as planning and tracking children’s progress is also essential.

Ideally, the candidate would have previously obtained or be working towards SVQ level 4 or PDA in childhood practice.

Responsible to: Nursery Manager

Main Duties:

· Ensuring high standards of care, learning and development

· To effectively delivery of curriculums ensuring that the individual needs and interest of children in the setting are met alongside your team.

· Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements

· Ensure strong partnerships with staff, parents and carers

· Provide leadership and support to colleagues to ensure they are able to carry out their role effectively.

• To work alongside the manager and staff team to ensure that the setting’s aims and values are being achieved
• Develop the environment within the room and the nursery as a whole
• To ensure that accurate and up-to-date record keeping systems are in place e.g. children’s records of progress and any additional support needs and development reports, any safeguarding issues, health and safety issues.
