Nether Johnstone House is an independent service located in Johnstone, Renfrewshire. We provide residential care for ‘Looked after Children’ who for a variety of reasons are unable to be cared for at home. Our ethos is embedded by a social pedagogical approach, ensuring that developmental relationships, opportunities and encouragement are at the heart of our care. We cater for short term and long-term placements and where required offer a respite service. We provide a safe, respectful and nurturing environment for all children & young people, promoting the development of personal growth and achievement.

We are currently looking to recruit a permanent Senior Residential Child & Youth Care Worker with enthusiasm, passion and who can demonstrate a commitment to leading and supporting the team caring for our children and young people.

A Senior Residential Child & Youth Care worker will contribute to all aspects of the physical and emotional care of the children/young people in order to promote their welfare whilst working in partnership with their family and other professionals on a day to day and long terms basis. They will provide supervision and support to a team of residential child and youth care workers to enhance their learning and development.

The post will involve shift and weekend working and will include participation in an on-call Rota.

Applicants are required to hold a HNC qualification & an SVQ III Health & Social Care. All applicants must either have or being willing to work towards and SVQ IV in Health & Social Care. This is line with the requirement set by the Scottish Social Services Council. Applicants will be supported to gain additional qualifications required and encouraged to maintain their own continuous professional development as required by SSSC.
