Duration: Full Time, Permanent, 37 Hours per Week
Location: Various locations City Wide
The postholder must undertake either individually or as a member of a team a variety of duties concerned with Environmental Operations including both general work and horticultural work of a specialist nature in public parks, playing fields, cemeteries, landscaped areas, public open spaces, public roads, amenity areas and housing estates.
Undertake the full range of duties and tasks of the post, in relation to Ground Maintenance and Street Sweeping tasks, including grass cutting, shrub pruning, general gardening duties, street sweeping and other associated duties like emptying dog waste bins and litter bins.
Grass Cutting using a variety of different types of machinery and tools, including Pedestrian Mowers, strimmers etc.
Shrub Pruning using both hand tools and machinery including hedge trimmers.
General Gardening duties like edging, clearing leaves etc.
Ensure that the daily scheduled work is undertaken in a safe and efficient manner.
Ensure that work standards and performance is maintained in line with industry standards.
Perform duties in compliance with work instructions and Health and Safety legislation.
Ensure the safe use and control of work equipment.
Respects council equipment, premises and property.
Communicate daily, with Environmental Chargehand and other members of the team.
Undertake to engage in Continuous Review and Development meetings with Line Management.
Work outdoors in all types weather.
Be prepared to work in all areas within the City.
