Location: Kittybrewster Complex
Status: Permanent, Full Time
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Job Purpose:
To manage, monitor, audit and advise user services to ensure compliance with the Council’s vehicle operator’s licence; assist user services to ensure driver compliance including training; systems development of both processes and the services ICT system; ensuring appropriate management systems are in place so that the Council’s operating centres are compliant with the Council’s “Operator’s licence” and meet ISO 9001:2008.


The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
HNC in Management Studies, software development or equivalent.
Full UK Driving Licence.
A certificate of Professional Competence in Transport Management or be prepared to work towards achieving.

The post holder must be prepared to:
Attend meetings outwith the city on behalf of the service.
Travel within and outwith Aberdeen City.
Undertake further training as appropriate.


The post holder is expected to demonstrate:
Extensive experience relating to fleet compliance and knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice.
Proven record at management level of the ability to manage people and teams, delivering required results within a customer focused organisation.
Proven ability to manage and deliver a range of projects to set deadlines.
Proven ability to achieve continuous improvements in delivery of services and performance of staff.
Proven experience of having established and maintained successful, complex internal and external relationships across a variety of forums.
Proven experience of having effectively designed and developed policies and procedures to ensure statutory compliance, improve service delivery and achieve organisational aims.
Proven record of maximising resources and enhancing the quality ethos to ensure efficiency and best value.
Proven interpersonal and team leadership skills.
Proven ability to communicate clearly, concisely and persuasively with a range of audiences.
Effective influencing and negotiating skills.
