Duration: Fulltime, Fixed Term up to 30/06/2023

Job Purpose:

Part of a wider Development Management Service Area collaborating closely with others to develop and embed the principles and practices which protect and enhance Aberdeen’s built and natural environment.  The Union Street Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme (CARS) Project Officer will project manage the CARS project, deliver, process, monitor grant applications and promote and monitor projects and deliver the reporting requirements including risk management.

The role will include liaising with associated project boards, partners, owners, tenants, agents, stakeholders and other organisations and promote high quality building repair, maintenance and provide conservation advice.

Requirements

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

A degree in building conservation, architecture, building surveying, planning, or a historic environment grant funding related discipline.

Considerable project management experience.

 

Responsibilities

The post holder needs to be able to demonstrate an understanding or experience of:

The principles and practices of conservation and regeneration

Appropriate legislation, procedures, government advice and good practice

Written and verbal communication and negotiation, including managing conflict

Collaborative working with peers and stakeholders to achieve objectives

Analysis of data and information and production of cogent reports

Planning, management and leadership of the CARS project including own priorities and workloads

Use of ICT systems and programmes
