Location: Marischal College
Duration: Permanent, Full Time
The successful candidate will be expected to provide a wide range of quantity surveying, project management and financial reporting services on a variety housing investment projects and programmes.
The successful candidate will be expected to work in a collaborative manner with a variety of Council colleagues, contractors and members of the public. Applicants are invited to demonstrate their suitability against these expectations.
Degree or equivalent in appropriate technical discipline
Full membership of the RICS
Able to demonstrate an excellent all-round knowledge of all aspects of quantity surveying duties
Full working knowledge of the duties required by all of the professional disciplines of all members of the design team
The post holder is expected to demonstrate:
Skills & Experience in:
Supervisory experience and ability to deputise for the Senior Quantity Surveyor
Working within a multi professional design team environment
Managing, co-ordinating and supervising quantity surveying staff
Using oral and written methods effectively for the communication of information to professionals, elected members and the public
Identifying, organising and using resources effectively to complete tasks
Thinking independently and using innovation to solve problems;
Undertaking effective contractual negotiations with confidence
Management of quality processes
Coaching and supporting others
Working on own initiative and as part of a team
Competently using computer systems and programmes
An Understanding of:
Various methods of contract procurement and related procedures
Most forms of building contracts
Producing estimates and checking valuations
Works and services procurement
Project Management and Governance
Computerised billing systems
Taking an active role in Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
Health and Safety
Data Protection Essentials (on-line training module)
