Job Description

We require a Cleaner to undertake cleaning duties in a wide variety of settings e.g. schools / sheltered housing / offices / buildings across the wider Aberdeenshire geographical area.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

This exciting position is on an annualised hours basis.  You are guaranteed a number of paid hours annually, but the number of hours worked each week may vary. Your weekly working pattern will need to be reasonably flexible and driven by service demands.

You will work in a range of establishments. Working hours of this post would generally be undertaken between the building access times: 06.00 – 08.00 and 15.30 – 23.00 Mon to Fri with variable “through the day” access hours and weekends. 

Daily working hours would be agreed, recorded and monitored by the Area Supervisor.

This post will offer you great flexibility whilst ensuring we have staff available for cover, helping us to provide a good level of customer service.

Aberdeenshire Council currently applies a Living Wage Supplement to all Council employees earning less than £9.34 per hour.

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.  Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

This post has a minimum requirement of one reference which must be your current or most recent employer.
