Job Description
This will be an exciting opportunity to join the Support and Advice team which provides financial support to the residents of Aberdeenshire. These include Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction and Discretionary Housing Payments. The successful candidate will undertake both SCQF/SVQ and IRRV training programs as they work, during the apprenticeship.
The area the post will be based is negotiable and will be hybrid with a requirement to work flexibly which will include working from home and from the office. Office locations can include Banff, Fraserburgh, Peterhead, Inverurie and Stonehaven.
Aberdeenshire Council is committed to increasing the opportunities in the local area by providing Modern Apprenticeships (MA's). These allow you to gain skills, experience and knowledge in the world of work as well as gaining a formal qualification.
Successful candidates will be placed on an approved programme of training through the Aberdeenshire Council Modern Apprenticeship Scheme for SCQF Level 6/SVQ Level 3. In order to qualify for the appropriate funding from Skills Development Scotland this MA programme is open to candidates aged 16-19. If you have a disability or are a care leaver* then you are also eligible to apply up to the age of 29. Academic achievement to Scottish National Level 4 or 5 or Standard Grade in Mathematics and English, or equivalent transferable experience and Skills is essential.
*Any adult who spent time in care as a child
The post requires a Disclosure Scotland Check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of this check being deemed satisfactory.
