Based in the school library, you will be responsible for meeting lifelong learning and cultural needs of the school and community in a defined network through the provision of an integrated library service.  Enthusiasm to work with partners, to deliver cultural programmes, and provide services in a flexible manner within communities are key elements of this post.
Essential to this post are excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to adopt a flexible working approach.
Previous experience of participating in working groups, knowledge of reading levels and differing abilities of pupils in addition to an awareness of the secondary curriculum and an understanding of the process of forward planning and policy writing would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be placed on the appropriate grade depending on qualifications and experience. 
This post is regulated work with children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.  The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.  An offer of employment by Aberdeenshire Council will be subject to the outcome of this check being satisfactory.  The preferred candidate will also be required to provide an overseas criminal records check from other countries as deemed necessary.  An offer of employment by Aberdeenshire Council will be subject to the outcome of this check being satisfactory.
