Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic teacher who is committed to excellence. You have a good knowledge of current planning and assessment procedures and of the national and local curriculum policies.

Your base will be Fraserburgh North Primary School.  You will be required to travel within a 25 mile radius of this base school and your home address.

In addition to the requirements on the attached job profile, you will be required to provide a vehicle for the purpose of carrying out your official duties and will be entitled to claim Aberdeenshire Council Mileage Rates.  You will be required to hold a current driving licence to enable you to carry out the full duties of the post.  The withdrawal of the licence for whatever reason will require the council to consider whether you are able to continue in the post to which you are appointed.

Please note that this post can only be offered on a full time basis.

Salary for this post will be in accordance with SNCT agreements. Applicants must be or eligible to be fully GTC Scotland registered.

This post is regulated work with children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where applicable, this post also requires an Overseas Criminal Record Check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Aberdeenshire Council recognises that in order to recruit and retain high quality employees across the organisation it is necessary to have a competitive relocation and resettlement scheme. The purpose of the scheme is to compensate employees for reasonable expenses directly incurred as a result of a change in their primary residence. The change must be wholly or mainly to bring their residence within a reasonable daily travelling distance of the place where they will normally perform their work. Under the terms of this procedure relocation expenses of up to £8,000 (including vat) will be reimbursed.

We welcome applications from Chartered Teachers, however it should be noted that the nature of the post is a Supply role and therefore the Chartered Teacher salary and remits would not apply.  This role will be paid on the appropriate point of the Class Teacher scale and the duties and associated tasks undertaken would be those of a Class Teacher.
