Job Description
We are pleased to invite applications for a Procurement Development Officer to join our economic development team on a fixed term 12-month post.
Aberdeenshire Council is looking for a candidate with experience and understanding of public sector procurement processes with good communication and networking skills to encourage the supply chain to increase their capacity to tender for public sector contracts. Experience in developing and working in public / private/third sector partnerships is desirable. Self-motivated with good networking skills and demonstrable commercial aptitude and the ability to deliver results to agreed timescales in a demanding work environment. Report writing will be a key part of this role to monitor local content and work closely with the procurement and economic development officers.
The post holder will proactively engage private and third sector business to support their growth opportunities through capacity building and will be expected to develop initiatives to increase the tendering capabilities of Aberdeenshire businesses as well as identifying other organisations, companies and individuals who can add value to improved procurement performance and develop proposals to introduce them to relevant Aberdeenshire businesses.
Public/private sector experience in a regulated procurement environment is desirable.
The role will focus on the 4 Northern Towns Banff, Macduff, Fraserburgh and Peterhead.
Travel throughout Aberdeenshire is required, mainly to the 4 Northern Towns as mentioned above.
