Job Description

The Role:

Property & Facilities Management (P&FM) has a vacancy for one Project Manager Net Zero post within its Architecture team.

This is a significant post for Aberdeenshire Council that is key to the delivery of a managed and prioritised programme addressing the council’s carbon reduction targets across its current building stock.  Reporting directly to the Architecture Manager within the P&FM service, the successful candidate joins a team of five Project Managers that are responsible for the delivery of major projects and programmes for P&FM, but, in this role, with the specific focus on defining P&FM’s carbon reduction strategy, its prioritisation criteria, and delivery within budget.

Input from the wider P&FM internal design team, or externally sourced design services, will be managed in compliance with P&FM’s ISO 19650 (BIM Level 2) project delivery processes.  Developing and undertaking training and instruction sessions for the internal and external design teams, client teams, and contractor teams will also be a key task for the successful candidate.

The successful candidate will have proven experience of managing a wide range of construction projects, with extensive knowledge of current research, technologies, and legislation relating to the design and delivery of carbon reduction across multiple building types.  Extensive knowledge of construction contract legislation and management of contracts, managing budgets and preparing bids, and previous line management experience including managing and developing a team, is essential.  The ability to clearly convey detailed technical information and present to a wide range of audience groups is also essential.

You will also have experience of information input and report production from project and contract management software, specifically, but not exclusively, SharePoint and PowerBI.

This is a challenging and wide-ranging role that is fundamentally important to the successful and compliant delivery of all P&FM’s construction projects.

We have one full time permanent post available.
