We require 6 Relief Cleaners to carry out cleaning duties in Aberdeenshire Council premises e.g. schools / sheltered housing / offices / buildings within Alford and the surrounding area.
As this is a relief post hours of work will be as and when required and may be at short notice. Days of work may include Monday to Friday, occasional weekends for any of the following shift patterns:
- 06:00 - 08:00
- 1-3.5 hours between the hours of 09:00 - 12:30
- 1-2 hours between the hours of 11:00 - 14:00
- 2-5 hours between the hours of 15:30 - 21:00
Various hours, including (but not limited to) midday refresh cleaning in schools between 10:00 and 14:00. Potential for fixed term contracts.
Weekend hours are paid at the enhanced rate of £12.45 per hour.
Aberdeenshire Council currently applies a Living Wage Supplement to all Council employees earning less than £9.34 per hour.
Elements of this role be physically demanding and may involve lifting, handling and moving.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
