Job Description

Aberdeenshire Health & Social Care Partnership (AHSCP) supports members of our communities who are subject to a Community Payback Order imposed by the court. Community Payback Orders are used as a sentencing option by Courts across Scotland, and of the ten Requirements that can be imposed, the Unpaid Work Requirement is the most often used, and can be imposed as an alternative to custody.

Unpaid Work is carried out to ‘payback’, and to improve and enhance local communities.

The AHSCP Unpaid Work Team works with and supports people who are given an Unpaid Work Requirement, to complete it in line with the timescales set by the court.

As a member of this busy team, you will help to plan, organise, and deliver Unpaid Work tasks. You will directly supervise and motivate service users to attend and carry out the tasks identified and will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for all. Using your practical skills and experiences you will help assist individuals to complete their Unpaid Work requirement and deliver the best outcomes for them throughout this process.

You will be empathetic to our service users’ needs and support them to develop practical and social skills which will enhance their employability opportunities also. Through pro-social modelling in your daily interactions, you will demonstrate that our service-users can make positive changes to their lives and can develop personal responsibility for their actions, and thus improve their relationship with their communities.

This post will require the successful candidate to travel throughout Aberdeenshire, however the main point of base will be Inverurie.  The successful candidate to work at weekends on a rota basis, with the potential for occasional evening work in addition to this.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.  Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
