As Team Manager (Processing and Disposal) you will have considerable experience in the Waste Management field. You will use this to be an integral member of the Waste Manager’s senior team, through which you will contribute to the development of the future direction of service planning and delivery.
You will also be responsible for the recruitment, training and management of a team of front line and professional colleagues tasked with the day to day delivery of the Waste Processing and Disposal function of Aberdeenshire Council. Delivering these in line with agreed strategies, and policies, will be a core part of your role, as will be the management of the budget required to carry out these activities.
In addition to the delivery of the core process and collection services, you will also be tasked with leading on specific projects, such as capital infrastructure investments and service transformation initiatives.

It is a material condition of employment for this post that the employee holds a full driving licence and has a car available, whenever required, in order to undertake a range of duties of the post. As such, the post is designated as an authorised car user and be entitled to receive mileage payments.
It is also essential for the postholder to hold a Certificate of Technical Competence (COTC) in Waste Management. Applications from candidates without this qualification will be considered but if the candidate were offered the position it would be subject to them gaining the COTC qualification within 18 months.
