Job Description

We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic team player to join our team at Westhill Swimming Pool, striving for excellence in customer care whilst maintaining a high standard of health and safety within our leisure facility. 

The main responsibilities will include: 
·Ensuring customer safety in the facility by supervising the swimming pool
·Delivering a high standard of customer care 
·Carrying out routine administration tasks as set out including the promotion of memberships and other activities 

Training will be provided for this role including the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ). This must be gained with 3 months of your employment with us. 
We require our employees to have a standard level of swimming ability before being employed and will require to undertake the follow swim test before being offered employment: 
·Dive of Jump into the Pool in Deep Water
·Swim 50 metres under 60 seconds 
·Swim 100 metres continuously in a recognised front stroke 
·Swim 100 meter continuously on the back 
·Tread water in deep water for 30 seconds
·Surface dive to 2.0m to recover a brick and bring back to the surface
·Climb out the pool unaided – without using steps or a ladder. 

There is a requirement to undertake manual handling daily. There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

Working Pattern: 3 week rota with a mix of mornings, evenings and weekends.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.  Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
