Live Life Aberdeenshire has an exciting opportunity to join its growing museums team, to drive forward our heritage offer and deliver on our ambitious plans. The post of Museum Curator will support museum refurbishments, development of exhibition programmes and participatory outreach across Aberdeenshire for local communities and visitors.
The main purpose of this role is to create and deliver high-quality, engaging exhibitions, displays, public events and learning resources for Aberdeenshire’s Museum Collections. Other responsibilities include providing professional curatorial support and specialist advice to third sector heritage organisations, research, and input to Axiel Adlib collections management software.
As a key member of the team, you will have line management responsibility for the front of house teams at Aberdeenshire Farming Museum, Arbuthnot Museum and Banchory Museum and will supervise occasional work placement students and volunteers. You will report to the Museums Development Co-ordinator.
