Gaelic ELC Apprentice

Are you looking for an opportunity to gain valuable paid work experience, while working towards a recognised qualification in a growing and rewarding sector?

If you enjoy working with young children and you are passionate about helping them to grow and learn, then you could have what it takes to work in Early Learning and Childcare.

Argyll and Bute Council are looking to recruit a Gaelic ELC Apprentice at Rockfield Primary School /Sandbank Primary School.

This position will provide an opportunity to learn on the job whilst gaining key transferable skills and a qualification which is essential to work within the sector as a practitioner, SVQ3 Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 7.

If you are Gaelic speaker, aged 16 to 24 (or aged 16 – 29 if either Care Experienced or Disabled*), and have an interest in Early Learning and Childcare, good communication skills, enthusiastic, willing to learn and have 3 National 5 qualifications or equivalent then we want to hear from you.

*Care Experienced – A young person who currently is or was looked after by a local authority, in the family home (with support from social services or a social worker) or elsewhere, for example, in foster care, residential/secure care, or kinship care (with family friends or relatives).

As per the contract terms from Skills Development Scotland, apprenticeship funding is available up to the age of 29 if a young person is care experienced or disabled.
