The Head of Service, Lifelong Learning and Support is currently responsible for Early Learning and Childcare, Additional Support Needs, Youth and Adult Learning Services, Developing Scotland’s Young Workforce and Educational Psychology Services. The post holder will have line management responsibility for two geographic areas covering clusters in the Bute and Cowal and Mid Argyll, Kintyre and the Islands area.
We are looking for someone with enthusiasm for change and a drive for transformation who is as committed as we are to the future of our children – over 10,000 across our 10 Secondary schools, 71 Primary schools (7 of which include Gaelic Units), one special school, 51 pre-school units and 2 standalone nurseries.
Educated to degree level in a related subject, with comprehensive experience of managing at a senior level, you will be able to evidence your knowledge of Education and Children’s Services legislation, policy and practice. You will bring an extensive range of experience and skills to this post as outlined on the attached Job Description Person Specification.
The post is politically restricted in terms of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.
