Argyll and Bute Council's Customer Engagement Team are looking to recruit a Marriage Officer.   This is a  permanent full timepost and is based in the Lochgilphead area. 

To support the Customer Service Centre to provide a high quality, efficient and effective service to users by providing a high quality, customer-focused service within the Customer Service Centre Team, processing enquiries and requests, offering advice and information on Council Services, and carrying out a range of other duties in accordance with Council Policy, service guidelines and procedures

Provide an effective and efficient registration service, conducting civil marriages, civil partnerships, citizenship ceremonies, baby naming ceremonies, renewal of marriage vows and associated duties/paperwork including preparation of registers. This post will carry out registration duties including births, deaths and predominantly marriages/partnerships; will be peripatetic in nature, covering weddings in various locations as required by other Registration Districts. It requires the accurate recording of these events according to systems and procedures determined by the National Records of Scotland. The post will require occasional weekend working to meet demand for ceremonies.

To assist in promotion of Argyll & Bute Council as a venue for civil ceremonies and the maximisation of income from registration related services.

To handle front facing customer enquiries and requests for all services from the customer across different channels, responsively aiming to resolve the maximum number of enquiries at first point of contact using a range of PC based applications which support the service.
