Argyll and Bute Council are seeking a permanent full time Senior Engineer (structures) based in Lochgilphead.

This post plays a key role in assisting the Principal Engineer in delivering a high quality service within the Roads and Amenity Services’ civil engineering consultancy arm Infrastructure Design by ensuring the efficient and effective design, management and supervision of construction of roads, bridges, retaining walls, harbours, coastal protection and flood defences.

Duties of the post includes:-

  • Leading the structures section
  • Providing efficient and effective design and supervision of design
  • Management and supervision of construction of roads, bridges, retaining walls, harbours, coastal protection and flood defences;
  • Providing the Technical Approval for road structures on behalf of the Council
  • Providing training/mentoring for the section’s Graduate Engineers.
