An exciting opportunity to join our Adult Health and Social Care service as a Social Work Team Leader. The post is based on the mainland in the scenic west coast town of Oban which offers many opportunities within the local area. There is a good provision of shops, leisure activities and public services and the larger towns in the central belt are within a short driving time.   

 

The successful candidate will have both operational responsibility and strategic oversight. The post holder will provide leadership, management, capacity and resource to the existing Social Work Adult Operations Teams to ensure the provision of statutory services to promote client’s protection and welfare. 

There will also be a strategic element to the post, streamlining pathways between services/teams and developing shared understanding of roles and remits. There will also be a focus on Quality Improvement and learning and development for this post holder, ensuring our staff teams are providing high quality, safe and effective care. 

A Diploma or degree in Social Work or as recognised by the Scottish Social Services Council is essential and experience of managing a team delivering a Social Work service to identified client groups is desirable. The successful candidate will be a Council Officer or willing to train towards being one.

There will be expectation of some travel to the Inner Hebrides to our island-based teams either by ferry or plane.
