Asbestos Coordinator

Salary: £45,385 - £54,326
Hours: 36 per week

In Housing, an exciting opportunity has arisen within the newly formed Asbestos Team. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic person to join the Housing Service as an Asbestos Coordinator.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation and delivery of the Asbestos Management System for over c20,000 domestic properties in Edinburgh and be able to manage conflicting priorities, compliance with complex legislation and ensure the Council meet their duty of care.

The post holder will lead projects and successfully manage contractors making decisions on behalf of Housing in a dynamic yet sometimes challenging environments as well as identifying areas for improvement and the ability to help shape and embed the service. The work is a mixture of responsive, and other works which will involve providing expertise and management skills to our large Capital Work Programme for Housing. Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range. For roles in grade 5 or above, annual increments in our contribution zones are dependent on achieving agreed performance goals.
